I LOVE Drive! Not many people liked it, but it was right up my alley. Ryan Gosling was great in this movie, even though he didn't have very many lines. I also fell in love with the soundtrack. Very 80's. ^_^
Anyhoo, when I was coming up with costumes for all my characters to wear for Halloween this one was a no brainer for Lupe. While Lupe didn't love the movie, seeing Jessie and Aria swoon over Ryan Gosling and his performance, he thought he'd score some points with his new girlfriend and his ex-boyfriend (still friends) by going as the Driver for Halloween. Plus he loved the jacket and couldn't resist wearing it for a night. Needless to say, he got the reaction he wanted from Aria and Jessie, even though Aria was pissed at him for not going dressed as a DC hero like they had originally planned.

Not seen is a hammer in his hand, in remembrance to the scene where the Driver interrogates a guy by putting a bullet to his forehead and threatening to hit it with a hammer. Classic scene! ^_^
I know it's almost a month late, but I submitted this commission late to DKStudios. =P
Anyway, I hope you like it. :D

It came in 2nd place for me, the first being 'The Tree of Life', but it was pretty close. At a midnight showing of the film, 2 canvas posters consisting of painted 2.35:1 widescreen screenshots of the film were auctioned off through a raffle drawing, and I was lucky enough to get one of them. It's the shot where the driver smashes Cook's hand up with a hammer and holds a bullet above his forehead.
If you loved 'Drive', which I know I did, check out some of Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn's other pictures, notably 'Bronson', 'Valhalla Rising', and 'Fear X'. He's working on another film called 'Only God Forgives' with Ryan Gosling about an American who fights a Taiwanese boxer in Taiwan. It was filmed on location in Taiwan and is currently in the editing stage as we speak.
