Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway SD38-2 #671 was built in 1975 by EMD and has an interesting history. It started off at the Bessemer & Lake Erie, then went to the Union Railroad, both in the Pittsburgh area. The EJ&E bought it in 2001, and with the "J" now run by Canadian National, it still serves in its home territory with several sister units, hauling steel products and doing switching work.
