This is the view from the last car of the ill fated TVRM excursion over Norfolk Southern from Knoxville to Chattanooga which ended up lasting 10 hours when steam locomotive Southern 630 had bearing problems.
This photo was taken from the rear car shortly after 630 was ordered into a siding by NS and diesels coupled to the train because the excursion at this point had been holding up the main line for nearly 7 hours do to 630 stopping frequently. At this point the priority for NS was getting us the hell out of the way of traffic and the diesels are pulling us along at full power. Not seen in the photo is the trail of brake shoe smoke that followed the train when one of the brake shoes got stuck and NS literaly just dragged the thing along to get us out of the way.
