...bringing you some ice cream, because she does things like that.
This is Iris "Identity" Deck, who uses her scenting powers to track, capture, and attempt to re-habilitate emerging supervillains. She's the head of the Secret Identity Association, a government organization that acts as a liason with non-licensed superheroes, and also performs "iternal affairs" type duties amongst superheroes.
She exists in the same continuity as my doberman superhero, Dobes Gillis, and the costume is something they tease each other about. He believes he's more threatening in his ordinary jeans and boots, and can't believe she fights evil in "that getup." She insists that she'll get him in a "proper superhero costume" someday.
She's one of my oldest characters that I'm still actively drawing. And by oldest, I mean I've been drawing her a long time. She's actually supposed to be in her 20's. It was a challenge to try to draw a bloodhound that's supposed to look young, alert and female, and still have her be recognizable as a bloodhound.
It's funny that my muscle artwork wound up being so cano-centric. I love muscle dogs, but I also love muscle cats, and I have a panther, a leopard, a cheetah, a liger and at least four lion supers that are waiting to be drawn.
The background is the Baker's Field Bakery at Disney's California Adventure. (Bur-r-r-bank Ice Cream, was next door, but they were connected inside.) The 1950's-style train facade is now gone, as part of the construction of the new 1920's-Los-Angeles themed entrance, Buena Vista Street. The photo was taken by me.
