None of us can know what fate has decided for us, what paths we are to walk down, what obstacles we must overcome and we certainly don’t know who it is we are meant to spend what time life has granted us with. At least not until we come across such things. And fate, well, fate it always has stupendous means of how it places us just at the right moment for these things to happen. Or in this instance, it had an influence upon those we know to help lead us in the direction is wishes. This destiny you are about to read is not some mere myth, nor any legend, but a true tale of how two furs met and loves and become one in sharing their lives together. This is what fate had decided and what two hearts chose, to remain bound to the other...for the rest of eternity.

The sound of typing could be heard in the small room, the only other audible noise was the soft lull of music playing from a stereo on the other side from where she sat. Azalea’s blue-purple eyes fixed on the computer monitor in front of her, she was gazing slowly over the profile linked to her by a friend, to which she was replying to as she read on, the male’s image was the first thing to have caught her attention. But it was the look on his face, in his red eyes that held her undivided attention; she knew it all too well. At first she’s been hesitant to even click to look at his profile but curiosity won her over, that and her friend’s persuasion.
But as she found herself clicking on the add friend button Face book held she somehow knew that by doing so something in her life would change, what it was she was yet to know, but first instincts are often the best. And she felt it would take her someplace wonderful with this Taur, who already was much like herself in many ways. As she thanked her friend and logged off, waiting for her computer to shutdown, sleep had finally found its way into her mind, so much so that Azalea simply lay upon the cool sheets of her bed. A smile crossed over her muzzle before she would allow her eyes to close and drift into slumber, half listening to the music still playing.
By the time sunlight poured through her window, warmly announcing the start to a new day Azalea had been up and showered and was seated back at her desk where her computer whirred to life while she scooped up the last of her cereal into her mouth. To be honest she had rather all but forgotten about the male Taur at least, that was, until she spotted the notification that he had added her, accompanied by a brief message that read. ‘Thank you Azalea for adding me as a friend, it’s nice to see another Taur around, especially one as pretty as you. I’m Tarok by the way.’ The message ended with a bright smiley face afterwards.
Again the smile crossed her muzzle from the night before as she now typed a reply, thus starting an ever growing friendship that would span across time itself. It wasn’t long before they gained one another’s trust and shortly after one another’s mobile numbers. Soon Face book and private messages became replaced by texts and long phone calls. They often stayed up late or during the day for lengthy hours talking, just really wanting to hear the other, learning more about their likes, dislikes, their past, family, dreams and all that.
As more time went by Tarok finally plucked up the courage to ask Azalea to be his mate, which of course she readily accepted. It was within moments like this both felt a deep comfort and happiness that they now had someone to clear away the terrible loneliness each had held within them. But every tale has to have its tragedy and heartache, no matter if it’s true or fiction and as happy as they were a few days afterwards...not but a few days after Christmas Tarok’s mother passed away. Leaving the Taur with a deep well of sadness inside him, but it was one Azalea would help to heal over time.
Finally with the New Year’s both well behind and also ahead of them the two lovers finally met, and from that first true glance, touch, smell and yes even taste from their first kiss. Azalea and Tarok had sealed the destiny of what fate had laid out for them both. However, that destiny still had one last bond to forge between them. When Azalea’s eighteenth birthday came around the two spent the day swimming at a friend’s house, the day was cloudless and hot and the water cool. Tarok had quite the surprise for his mate later on that day, but all through it he could hardly keep his gaze from her, thinking all the while on the perfect beauty he’d found. Her pearl-white coat glistened in the sunlight, markings of blue and purple lined all her paws, the tips of her ears and even highlighted through her hair, it was only one of the things he loved most about her and with her coat being saturated from the swim it only added to the scenery.
Azalea herself couldn’t help but to throw glances at him, he lay on the edge of the pool now as she did so, his jet black and red coat soaking up the sun’s rays and drying his fur, the silver-gray markings along his back and sides glimmering whenever he shifted, she would often trace them with her eyes, or paws, or both if he were close enough to her to do so. She knew he had something in mind, but was just unsure as to what exactly.
As the day turned into afternoon and the temperature cooled around them the pool was soon forgotten and left empty while the kitchen was filled now with chatter of birthday giving and food being consumed hungrily. Tarok offered to walk her home as they headed out the doorway soon after, Azalea curled an arm around one of his and nodded her consent. He walked with her slowly and deliberately at that for Tarok soon enough began to hum a tune.
A few moments later he then sang the words aloud, serenading his mate with them as he spun her around lightly, her cheeks flushing red underneath her coat as he did, more so when he ended the song and stopped before her, his face turning both serious and sheepish. He fussed with something within his paws then lifted it so she could see the ring shining in the fading light as it sat within the tiny box he held it made her breath draw in sharply and her eyes go wide.
He then took up one of her paws in his, kissing the back of it before asking her but one question. “Azalea Koji Caballero, would you do me the great honour of being my wife. My eternal love and life mate?” His red eyes locked with hers as he spoke, waiting with baited breath of his own for her to answer. Azalea had found herself speechless for a short time as she looked between his piercing gaze and the ring he held in his other paw and back to him again. Before then suddenly throwing her arms around his neck with an added squeal of excitement, followed by the reply he had hoped for.
“Yes, Tarok, yes! I cannot tell you how much this all means!” Though really as he slid the ring onto her finger both knew he trully did.
