Musically speaking, that's pretty freaking awesome, but holy Christ on a Bouncing Bagel, why wasn't it mixed to mono at least?

Tell me what your recording setup was and I can probably help you get a better sound next time. About all we can hear this time 'round is a poppy kick drum and a bit'o guitar burried in the back - I'd rather hear both, especially since the guitarry bit is giving me a woody. :D

As for the "recording set up" it an old desk mono tape-deck.. The ones you maybe saw your teacher use in like grade 2 or something placed on a towel on top of a chair in my drummers basement ^^; Haven't really had the oppurtunity to haul up my computer to get at least a half decent recording. So with that said if you could still help I'd be in your debt as I too am fiending for a better quality recording.

Ah, well I'd go ahead and invest in some good mics and a digital recorder like the M-audio Microtrak 24/96, or at the very least, one good omni mic and something other than a tape deck.

But, with what you have handy, if it's mono, try and find a good, full sound in the room - IE not right in front of the kick drum like it seems to be. Plug one ear, cup your hand over the other and pace around the room till you find a spot that has all instruments relatively balanced. Set the tape deck's mic there (or the tape deck itself)

If it's a stereo mic, do the same with both ears - no, not the plugging them, the cupping thing.

But to be honest you sound plenty good to hire a studio for a demo.

At the very least, could you play your guitar part alone, with the tape deck right in front of yer amp? Pretty please? :D

Yep I've looked into the digital recorders if I had the money I'd get it in an instant. But yea I am saving cash to record a demo but thats gonna wait till our singer flys back home sometime early in the fall. And I'll try out your tips. Thanks I appreciate it and the comments =D

Thanks, I totally agree but you just can't hear the bass enough being my complaint.. He does some real slick stuff in contrast to the riffs.
