I'm actually quite sad this didn't get used. All last minute-like, the hotel mentioned they're switching from the standard hotel key cards to the RFID chip cards (which I had) and it just wasn't in the con's budget to get the custom art printed on the new cards because it was hella expensive. There was a large print of this in the art show and some lucky person won it, and they are awesome.
The wigwam hotel is, in fact, real (if you had wondered after seeing Cars and their traffic cone variant) and it's right near me, so I had to do it. Plus, I love puns and goofy slogans.

Yeah, the hotel staff were still running on the "magnetic stripe" scripts when they'd hand over the new RFID cards re: demagnetizing, etc. The fact the RFID cards didn't even have Hyatt labels on them shows how last-minute THAT change-over was!
Oddly, the Executive Wing folks still had the mag-stripe cards from what I saw. The few folks I visited over there still had to use swipe-cards at least on floor 23.
Upside: RFID works still inside a con badge, so it made it REALLY convenient to just wave my badge at the door and have it unlock. =^.^=
