So, the boy rat (the smaller of the two) was origionally ment to be food for our boa, but she is now getting ready to shed, so won't eat, and he is to big for our pythons (they just ate anyways) so we put him in his own tank, and thinking it would be a while before Hera was ready to eat we got him some good high quality rat food and a new water bottle. We just put some paper in the tank so that he wasn't just on glass, but than today I find out about the female rat (the larger one in the picture). Apparently, she was origionally going to be snake food too, and she was to big for the peoples snakes, so instead of taking care of her, they put her and her bedding (apparently they kept a couple rats at a time usually, or so I'm assuming) in a trash bag and just threw her in the dumpster! The maintnance guy at the apartments found her, took her and her bedding (not knowing what else to do) and put it in a box for her. He couldn't keep her, so now we have her.
She is incredibly skittish, but I don't blame her. She was really nippy and bitey when we went to get her, but she will sniff my hand without trying to bite me, and I can pet her, just no fast movements. These two won't end up as snake food. We're going to keep them, I'm going to go to the store either later tonight or tomorrow to get some actual bedding for them, and a little hide house and some chew blocks.

Currently, they have no names... I'll think of some eventually, but any suggestions would be helpful, I REALLY don't like hooded rats, so I would probably come up with just blah names for them on my own anyways lol
