Shaman is the old band name of Korpiklaani, a finnish folk metal band. They are unique among folk metal in that rather than starting out as metal, then adding folk influences, they started out as a folk music group, then added more metal influences.

Go figure,,, The change apprently came about when the leader of the band was spending some time in Lapland, I quote: " his time in the Lapland was supposed to be some sort of search for his true self, but all he could find was booze, forest, women and funny music and these are pretty much the things that you will find in Korpiklaani's music these days." That sum up Korpaklaanis music pretty well...

But yeah, the midnight sun, it can wreck havock with your sleep schedule, at least if you like me are from the middle of sweden, around the stockholm area and is not used to it worth a damn.
