It was actually originally just a Photoshopped image of Obama made by an independent art design guy, but it was adopted by everyone as it circulated through the Internets. The original artist actually didn't have permission to use the image as it was copyrighted by the Associated Press, and he was sued as a result, but since the Internet got it, it wasn't going anywhere. XD
