I really should take an art class, but I'm focused on major classes right now, but I need a relaxing class... still.... ugh.

I enjoyed the drawing classes more than the painting one lol. But they were three hour classes once a week. Three hours is a long time 0_o

It made me happy when I was feeling cranky :D And it's less terrifying than the chainsaw too!

My art class was sort of like that. We could draw anything, but it had to meet certain criteria, like have certain colors and it had to be in a certain style.

I'm also super happy I found a drive to work on my own art, I'll have those requests on dA up soon, though. I just want to work on art for me, since I barely have time for it. Alas... I need to finish a sketch trade as well!

Well, this picture will be a start to that! I do have more character sheets on the way, but I want to draw some art of my characters. I tend to write more about them than draw them, though XD

It definitely helps you learn. I used to own one of those bright table lamps to practice on random things, but one of my dogs chewed through the cord. That's what I get for leaving it laying around XD

I just don't like the head shots or the art in general on it. I tweaked his design a little, but it's sort of back to his old design. The design around his paws is bothering me. I took a tip from another artist and tried to simplify his design.... and now I'm not happy with his paw design.

If you don't like the art on it I can understand redoing it. A ref is a very important thing and must be done properly. And I hate it when you change one part and then everything else looks wrong.

I get torn with my designs, though I think my signature mark is complex facial markings XD If the face looks too plain to me, I don't like the design. Joly's face is simple, yet complex enough to my liking. I think Marcello has to be the worse offender with facial markings though, I think it's the way I drew his markings on his ref, they come out looking sort of angular and it gives people a tough time replicating them. Oddly enough, Xhimenes doesn't really give anyone problems. There's some irony there. I probably won't change either character, because I love their markings so much!

I like the complex facial markings, especially Marcello. The colors and patterns go together nicely. I actually had fun trying to draw him because of the complicated design. Not sure of I got it 100%, but it was fun. I think both their refs are pretty good. I still like all your characters and you kind of inspired me to try and make my new characters look more unique.

Oh, don't worry! I don't care if people get the design wrong, it's the gift that counts! But if it's for a commission or trade, I want it to be done right. I'm glad you had fun, makes me want to draw more of my own stuff! And daw! I'm honored... I don't think I've inspired anyone to do anything before XD I just kind of draw what the character tells me he or she looks like. I can't have people design my characters for me, I've learned that lesson. Tis why I don't really buy adoptables. I don't see the character as completely mine.

Well okay then :3 I completely agree when it comes to trades or commissions though. Although the other person doesn't always get it right. I don't usually make a big deal with trades as much as I do commissions though. The ones who spit out a drawing fifteen minutes after the trade though; they can be annoying. I bought some adoptables! I'm using them for something specific though, and I have a few things I want to change on them.

My view on trades is that I paid for the art with my own art, so I value trades and commissions the same. I've had issues with people who did 15 minute doodles and got my character wrong...it turned into a thing where they told their friend and it happened to me a few times. I've cracked down on trades since then. I prefer sketch trades, because it doesn't take as long and sketches is relaxing for me. And do tell! I'd love to see the adoptables you picked as well!

That's generally why I like to wait and see the other persons half before I do mine. When I do trades I draw full backgrounds with shading. Sometimes I don't get anything close to that in return. I had one that was just a headshot. That's where I started monitoring my trades. I had done a full body and background. It was very upsetting... I'll do a sketch trade with you! But only after you do your personal art XD Just tell me if you want to someday! My adoptables are stuck in chibi sketch phase right now lol. I put it aside a couple weeks ago and forgot about them. They are... elemental foxes. Ironic isn't it? XD

I was getting chibis in return for my full bodies, so I started doing chibis in return. I learned my lesson, lol. Have we even done an art trade before? Pft, can't be mad at you about that. Tis why I post a journal with an example of what the person gets. Colored sketch. No background, and only one character UNLESS they do more than one of mine. I had someone try and weasel two characters out of me, pft, I was like "no." I'd do something nicer for people I know well, because I know the kind of art they usually pump out. As for our trade, I'd love to do a sketch trade with you :]

Next time I offer trades I'm going to give an example too. That way people will hopefully know what I expect and what they can expect. I've never had anyone try to get two characters out of me before. I do have one person who said they wanted to trade with me months ago and I haven't seen anything yet. I'm not posting until I do. Yay! I like sketching. What should I draw, and when do you want too?

Yeah, I don't feel too burned, because I didn't start my half either, but at this point it's been months and I think if they were going to do any work on it it would have been done by now.
