This is a companion piece to "Sonic, Circa 1997." Five drawings of Tails, done when I was a Sonic-loving 9-year-old.

I got really cocky about my Sonic-drawing skills at a really young age. I boasted to my next-door-neighbor that I could draw Tails better than his mom could. He must have told his mom about my challenge and she met it. A couple of days later, he showed me a drawing she had done of Tails. It was clearly better than mine, but I probably refused to admit it.
