I started at IC, And made gunner my first time up. I left boot camp as E-3, made it to the fleet and a few months later took my rating exam (dropped IC) and made gunner in like the 7-8th percentile lol. And I didnt even study! I have to admit I was lucky. And I made E-5 3 years later LOL. Advancment for GMs was poop for a LONG time! I kept missing it by like half a point hehe.
Sweet, congrats. Yeah, I know how frustrating it is to miss by half a point. I did that on my E-6 exam. When I did finally get it, I was frocked but had less than 6 months left so I had to put up with all the E-6 b.s. but never got paid for it. No regrets though--it was great.
