I raised him from a tad pole. THe pet shop I get my pet food from got in a shipment of assorted tadpoles by mistake so I got him. I photo documented his growth and everything.

hee XD i have a six inch (twelve inch if you count his wiskers) pictus catfish named fred XD my brother wanted to name him. He's actually my oldest fish right now, at about two and a half years.

Sadly my Fred passed away. I miss him. I think next time the pet shop gets another mixed shipment I'm going to get another taddy pole.

that's a shame, he looks adorable... sometimes you can order tadpoles online, but they are usually a lot of money and takes them a long time to recuperate from the journey.

*nods* Yes I was very sad to lose him. I'd rather nod order on line since most of the herp places online don't guarantee live on arrival from what I have found. The pet shop I go to sells mistake shipment like the taddy poles for pocket change, so I just have to wait.

that's good that your petshop can do that for you. around here they're sold for two or three dollars each ^^; I can get a bunch of feeder guppies ten for a dollar, so i usually get those to feed my predatory fish. the only one in the house right now is my brother's blue channel, he's getting a bit too big for his home, so my brother's looking into making an indoor pond (we have owls so he's worried about putting him outside XD )

Sounds about what they charge for the guppies at the shop I go to *nods* An indoor pond would be so lovely if you have the room for it . They can do so much for the decor and the sound of running water (if you do a flowing filter of fountain) can be so relaxing.

that's what we were thinking, he planned to put it in a corner of the dining room, it's a bit empty right now, and it'd be nice to have that in the background while doing paperwork or cooking in the kitchen nearby.

i plan to if it ever happens ^^ we're a little scrapped for cash right now, but once one of us get a job it'll be a bit easier.

it's a bit scary isn't it? we're lucky we get a bit of assistance for our autism, or we wouldn't be able to pay the bills, mom and dad pick up the extra bills like internet and phone. we're leasing the house from them at the moment.

It helps a lot. I did manage to rent a studio from a gallery with a friend for about fifty dollars each. I need to go back up there sometime to get some paintings done.

it really isn't. and there's enough room for both of our stuff. he's a god with acrylics though, for a second i thought a few of his paintings were photographs.

Wish I were that talented

I can't paint humans very well ^^; i mostly deal with fantasy and scenery. i've done a few koi paintings, wish i owned a koi or two, but they only do well in ponds, and we don't have one.. .yet >>'

Koi are lovely. I had a butterfly koi once and she was so pretty.

I adore butterfly koi, i used to draw them all the time as a little kid. we have a botanical garden with an orchid green house, near the center is a massive waterfall, and in the base is a pond with all kinds of different koi.

it really is, I love going there, i'll have to dig up some photos later on. I like to just go there and paint though. you can see one of my paintings in my gallery... i think... it's a massive painting, and had been hanging in the gallery, but they dropped it and the frame splintered. i was PISSED it was almost a hundred dollars to get that thing framed ><' ah well, i'll reframe it and see if i can't enter it in a different show.
