Agreed to the most definitive level! Aqua and Magma were actually threatening, and the others were just kinda... kinda jokes. And I don't think any generation can compare to 3, especially five. Don't get me wrong... five is good and all, it's just some of the pokemon make me wonder...
My only complaint is the ice cream cone evolutionary line. The rest are fine; if anything, they actually kinda look like they could've been Gen IV. Let's not forget: Gen V brought us some pretty cool stuff, too: Scrafty, Galvantula, Chandelure, Archeops, Zoroak, Zekrom, Golurk, Bisharp fucking HYDREIGON, and all their evolutionary lines, just off the top of my head. That's actually probably more than I can even say for Gen IV (which is overflowing with unnecessary legendaries).
