FA offers less to me in terms of a fixed friend network, but the flow of complete strangers i get coming through to view my work more than makes up for it.

the original lineart was so slick, and it'd been SO LONG since i'd had nice lineart of my own so... i just HAD TO BEG.

no i LOVE to draw. certainly more my own content than someone who has literally millions of pagehits. but i particularly liked this one, and it hadn't been colored yet. in the actual note, i tried to sound as casual as possible :D very little actual begging.

i suppose she's so busy with comments though that she doesn't really mind the volume of folks who request to fanart her. it was actually a very impersonal YA SURE OKAY! transaction. but she said yes and that's all that mattered for this to happen.

BUT BECAUSE I'M A SLUT-- i WILL color anything that i really like-- if people ask me, or if i ask them. it's all a part of maintaining a good network with other artists; and i feel like i've got skills worth strutting.

Genma really does get alotta page hits. I'm not sure if I envy her situation or not (I definently admire and envy her skill though). Just imagine having about 100 comments (a totally random but likely guess) to respond to daily.

A good network with artists? I've honestly never thought of it. 9.9; lol It seems so obvious now that you say it though. I need to try that myself. Though at the time my own skills aren't that hot.

way more than a hundred. i get a 1200 comments a day, and relatively a nobody on DA ESPECIALLY next to her. she must have like... oh god. two or three times that. NOT COUNTING usercomments and fav notices. that'd be an unimaginable hassle. i also don't envy her for that, but she makes what she does look so easy. character art and being consistent with it is still... it's hard for me sometimes.

The lineart does look clean! I must look for the orginal! Reading spoilers makes me wanna read stories so much more!

The coloring you did is amazing as always...the hair just glows in it's sheen and the shine of the metal is so...pretty...Interesting how you did the scales and damn! Awesome ab shading O.O;

thanks... i take pride in being able to do this sort of thing with vector while most folks rely on airburshes OR COPIC MARKERS *cough* not to insult the poriginal artist, but at 400$ USD for the set she has, some of us ain't that lucky. you can't exactly pirate tangible art supplies! XP

yeah the whole "mom n' pop bought me fame with a set of copics" thing kinda bums me out too. my money goes toward... well other things.

but she's got some serious talent with the lineart, i can only assume she's invested all of her free time in it.

I knew Snape from the times of Y! galery and miss her art as i quit DA (ewhen she pratically abandoned it too).
