Since I uploaded my entry for the second round of this contest, I might as wel upload my entry for the first round too. I kind of rushed it. I was planning on doing the whole thing at the last minute so I ended up just throwing a bunch of cheesy photoshop effects on it DX

We were each assigned a song and were required to draw a picture pertaining to the lyrics. I was given the song "Wind" by Akeboshi to draw to. Fortunately I know the song pretty well, but it was still difficult to come up with something to draw to go with it.

Lyrics used:

"You still are blind if you see winding road
'Cause there's always straight way to the point you see"

So there's a path that clearly visible that winds and is indirect, but there is also a more hidden path that will take you to you destination, if only you can see it.

Opted to use my character Shade for this. He can have wings, but when he doesn't he usually has a few feathers floating in the air around him. I was going to have him flying but then the whole walking along the roads thing wouldn't have made much sense X'D So he's floating instead

I was going to color this, but to be honest I didn't have time. It was also going to be fully traditional, so I wasn't as sure how to pull of the background digitally (thats why its kind of vague and unrefined. But, then again, sometimes our roads in life are undefined too. Pfff what are you talking about? No I'm not trying to make my piece look better by being all philosophical when really I didn't have time to finish. You're silly) I also think it looks a little better in (close to) monochrome
