I think it's more suppressed rage, and all over just shadow being shadow. He can't beat up Raptor or Vamp because both of them can fight back well. Also Shadow is based on the jerkish side of my good friend Xerian, the editor. He changes the script a bit in the final stages for effect, so half the time what Shadow says is from the person it's based on.
