Yep.. thought she needed to be more realistic. Truth is Aurana hasn't had an easy life even before she was born. Corrupted before birth, her homeworld and the majority of her race wiped out in just minutes (including her mother who sent her and Solaris away to preserve some part of their races), her best friend murdered by the beast that now resided within her mind, then wandering an unknown world for well over a century. Though she has found a mate in Gideon and has a family of her own, her life still isn't all fun and games and nommings. She still gets into fights and though she can heal herself to a degree some scars still remain despite the fact she hides them sometimes. Though despite her fierce fighting spirit and fearsome size, she's still the same fun-loving, mothering dragoness as always.
