Haha I freaking love Scutigerids!! *yes thats the name of this squirt for those who call them silverfish absently* These things just appear out of nowhere like tiny ninja's and you can get your face right up to them while they are like LALALA.. yet the second they notice you they are like EEEK!! and immediatly forget how to climb ^_^;; poor scittering bugs

They're actually good to have in your home as they eat other pests and don't bother your food :) They're a type of centipede and can bite but generally won't harm you. I love their crazy legs ^^

we get them alot in the supply closet at work. But they freak me out when they get in the house cause they will run over your bare foot before you even know it was there, and then I see it and freak out after the fact ^^;

they are pretty big man.. the common ones are around an inch long but the adults are around to 2 and a half inches long. thats why it freaks you out when one drops on your face in the middle of the night ^^;

Haha this picture single handedly cured my fiance of her hatred and phobia of these bugs. For years she would scream bloody murder whenever she saw one of these and she always called them "Silverfish" and me being a wannabe Intemologist was all like "Silverfish? that's not a silverfish?". Needless to say I had a day of research at our public library just to track this little fellow down to Phylum, Genus, Species... Scutigerid!!! And I learned so much about them I started drawing all sorts of goofy doodles of them with big googley eyes. It broke her fear of them and I got a good metal gear joke out of it XD

I still love this pic!
