Well I thought I'd try doing more are purelly in GIMP and this is the result. Did a number of sketches and hopefully will keep pace with this. ^^ Anyway as with all of my alien critters we get a species entry and then specifics on the character himself.

The Ivenko are an amphibious species native to the planet Ivenron. Iveron his a large terrestrial world approximately two Earth masses in size. This has caused the planet to retain a thick atmosphere. Like Earth much of Iveron is covered in oceans with it's two continents broken up by a large number of rivers and lakes. The Ivenko as a consequence Are powerful swimmers in the water and swift runners out of the water. Unlike earth amphibians the Ivenko are warm blooded. They are a highly social species and a major trading power in their region of space. Culturally the Ivenko value intelligence over physical prowess though most attain a good degree of both. On average they are twice as strong as your average humanoid but lack stamina in Earth standard atmospheres.

Delexer is a relatively young Ivenko and a promising student with a keen mind. He hopes one day to be a scientist on board one of their deep space exploration vessels studying the universe. However for the moment he's content to study what information comes back and to continue his work in his classes. He lives on a joint colony world not too far from their home system. The primary species found are Sokee and Ivenko with humans coming in last in numbers. Delexer as a result hasn't been keen on the subject of toilet training and has stuck with diapers like many of his Sokee friends. Here we see him waving to one out by the pool.
