Being an Obsidian Dream has its perks. You can live forever (unless destroyed), can change your shape at will, even pick whatever gender you feel like being at that particular time (or none at all)! Plus there's the part where you can split yourself up and turn into a group of smaller creatures as well, or just a pile of crystals.

But what are Obsidian Dreams?

Obsidian Dreams are related to Oozes and Slimes, but are in fact parasites. They reproduce by coating a host with "heavy proteins," or reproductive material, and after two weeks, they become an Obsidian Dream themselves, retaining their personality and memory, but losing their original body. The name comes from the extremely vivid dreams the host experiences while sleeping, where it eases them into what it is to be an Obsidian Dream, and teaches them how to use the body they will wake up into (it should be noted that all changes happen at night while the host is sleeping, so that the host isn't aware of the specifics of what's going on).

So here's Noctua in a lovely crystal/ice cave! No doubt he's there to learn something, as Noctua is always hungry for knowledge... It's irresistible to him, plus living forever helps him continue his quest to learn all there is to know about everything!
