Fugue in G-moll (''The Little''), BWV 578, by Johann Sebastian Bach
3 minutes 49 seconds
After I learned what I could from my first organ teacher, I studied under a really great organ teacher, Lois Williams. This was the first ''real'' piece of music that I learned to play. I was about 11 at the time, and Ms. Williams' peers told her that she was crazy to teach such a young kid a piece as complex as this one. But she knew I had talent and did so anyway.
The first 49 notes of the piece are the theme which repeats in this fugue. This recording was from the flurry of activity in December of 1986 when I was alone in the Band House full of musical equipment!
Realized on Yamaha DX-100 synthesizer, effects boxes, and Tascam Porta-1 4-track tape recorder. Best listened to with headphones.
