This is my father on Veteran's Day. We had gotten out his book of his photos to show the visiting cadets. The two photos are his gun section (which I believe I posted to this gallery earlier) and a photo of him and his friend Thompson with some English girls. His unit was the 460th Automatic Weapons battalion attached to the 1st Army under Bradley. He served 11 months in combat, was part of the D-Day landing (though didn't make it to shore till about +5 there was that much men and materials flowing into the beachhead). He fought during the Battle of the Bulge, was at the Rhein bridge crossing and got to within 150 miles of Berlin.
