Alright, I -completely- derped on this one. I was asked to draw a feline, any feline really, with a sack cloth tunic and some shackles on his legs. Hearing that, I thought it might be neat to also have him behind bars, just to add to the prisonery feel and such. I was so distracted by this interesting idea that I completely forgot to actually draw what was asked of me. xD
I decided to toss some shackles on his arms to help make up for it a bit, but if you want me to re-draw it to make sure the cuffs around his legs are visible, just let me know. I made the mistake on this one, so I've got no problems fixing it. :P However if you do happen to like it as is, then everyone wins, so yay! x3

Actually it's really quite fast and easy. I found a simple method that lets me draw chains in just a few seconds. Now if I had some self restraint and talent I could do a damn fine job of making them all the same size and shape, but I tend to get impatient and they're a bit iffy as a result... but the method is sound, I think. x3
just use a (cheat) window in a boring other part of the picture and show his feet in shackles and another (cheat) window of a close up of his face - to justify why you used the first one and hide the real reason you messed up and drew the wrong picture. I used to have to save paper.
there is a simpler way to do chains more than your method, just do the outside contour of one side of the entire length is a convoluted 's' shape recurring the distance. then do the individual other sides of the links. the contour also does the inside of the links. I'd have to show you I guess.
