Oh hey, I made something.
This was an assignment my flute teacher gave me, actually. I had to perform a piece at convocation (a weekly class where music students gather and watch their fellow students perform) on Thursday. I have terrible performance anxiety, so my teacher gave me a "little" assignment: draw a picture of what I think of when I play the piece. She always told me in my lessons that I play the piece (Boccherini's concerto in D major, op. 27, if you were wondering XD) too much like a modern flutist and need to think of "ladies in ballgowns," so naturally, that's what I drew! Definitely a bit different than what I usually draw.
I decided to take the assignment as an opportunity to attempt to play with color theory, with mixed results. The random red crap around the edges is my attempt at making the palette more unified instead of just having it on the dress, though... I really should have used that yellow elsewhere too. It sticks out like a sore thumb -.- Not sure how I feel about her face either. I should practice drawing people more during my imaginary free time. I dig her left hand though XD
I still got uber nervous during the performance, but not as much as I normally do (I only started physically shaking 3/4 of the way though! XD), and drawing this definitely helped me relate to the piece more.

That's a really neat idea. Glad to hear it helped with your performance anxiety! I like the contrast between the green and the red. My art teacher in high school always talked about how complimentary colors used in a piece convey anxiety and conflict. What I like about this piece is that the red/green combo helps to pull together [what I interpreted as] a muted anxiety.
Excellent use of color. If you did want to include more yellow, perhaps it could be included in the crown/headband...?
And also: that is one TRIPPIN' left hand.
Well done.
