This is the result of watching Rocky Horror Picture Show while having Cyborcats on the brain =P And I know it's a little late for something Halloween themed, but I didn't really get a chance to do any drawing then, and the idea popped back into my head tonight, so I figured why not?
She decided not to change her hair, she figured it was close enough =P I thought about at least coloring it all black, but was worried she wouldn't be as recognizable (as Isis) that way. I like the idea of Isis cosplaying as various mad doctors ... maybe next year, she'll be Professor Membrane =P
I probably could have made her more menacing or demented-looking, but I didn't want to spend TOO much time fussing over this one--as it is, it took something like 2 hours.
More rambling about how I approach art, for those who care to read it ...
.
I also drew this because, as much as I love my Cyborcats ... they're a bit ... daunting to draw. Really anything is kind of daunting for me to draw because my style is so tight. I don't really sketch, per se, I sit down and attempt to draw something specific (sometimes I don't even bother unless I have a REALLY clear mental image of what I want), and if it doesn't turn out right, it can be kind of discouraging.
But it's even moreso with Cyborcats because I always feel the need to use ink and lots of specific line weights, crosshatching, etc. ... and a lot of that stuff has to be done just so, otherwise it won't look right ... In short, they're a bit of a pain to draw. So I've been meaning to occasionally just do one in pencil and then just throw some color on in Photoshop.
It's still a fairly tight style, but not AS tight. I need to do stuff like this more often.
