FEATURING:
TippieTot's Apollo Conure and Paisley Conure
"Who broke the cookie jar?" asked Mrs. Conure with a scournful look.
Apollo and Paisley shied away. Both knowing mommy's angry face meant someone was about to get a major time out.
"Well?" she asked while putting her hands upon her hips and glaring down towards her children.
Apollo gulped as Paisley hid behind him.
"I'm going to count to 3," began Mrs. Conure impatiently. "1, 2-"
"Paisley did it!" cried Apollo as he leapt away to expose his sister. "Paisley broke the cookie jar!"
Fearing for her happiness, Paisley quickly dashed forward and cried, "No, no! It was Apollo! Apollo!"
"What's going on here?" asked Mr. Conure as he walked into the kitchen.
"One of the kids broke the cookie jar," replied Mrs. Conure unhappily.
"Oh," began Mr. Conure as he looked with disapointment towards his children. "You know what that means."
"But it was Paisley's fault!" cried Apollo while pointing towards his younger sister. "She did it! I tried to stop her and she wouldn't listen!"
"NO!" shrieked Paisley as she scampered about frantically. "Apollo! Apollo did!"
"Hmm," thought Mr. Conure. "Seems you both are guilty for breaking the cookie jar."
"No, no!" cried Paisley. "Apollo's being meanie head!"
"Am not!" countered Apollo. "I'd never do such a thing!"
"ENOUGH!" cried Mrs. Conure. "This finger pointing has got to stop!"
"I know," suggested Mr. Conure with a grin. "We'll hold a trial in our living room and let both Apollo and Paisley explain what happened. Then, you and I can decide who the guilty party is based on the facts presented."
"Someone's been playing too much Phoenix Wright," remarked Mrs. Conure.
"Hey," said Mr. Conure. "It's a fun way to get to the bottom of all this."
From here, Mr. and Mrs. Conure set up the living room so that it would look just like a mini courtroom. They both then took a seat on the couch and allowed Apollo to present his case first.
Being one to show off, Apollo was quick to imitate all those things he saw his father doing while making points on why it was all Paisley's fault that the cookie jar was broken. Of course, Paisley couldn't stand being accused of what Apollo put her up to and was quick to leave her witness stand on many an occassion to object to her brother's testimony.
In the end, Mr. and Mrs. Conure were able to easily gather that Apollo had talked Paisley into sneaking a cookie out of cookie jar. However, as she went about it, she thought she heard mom and dad coming and got scared. So, in a hurry to not get caught, she accidentaly knocked down the cookie jar. Apollo tried to catch it, but didn't succeed and that's when mom came in.
The verdict was both kids go to bed early and get no cookies for snack or after dinner treats for a week. However, in doing the trial, they both learned a valuable lesson about telling the truth and how admitting you're wrong instead of pointing fingers is the best way to handle a situation.

Oh, thank you, brother. *Crinklehugs* This was an idea that burned in my mind that I simply had to do. After all, you know I can't resist a good pun. Especially when it can turn out as a cute, character story.
I've really tried to take ideas from Nishi, Chazor, and other artists I like to view to improve on my style. I need to work on my poses a bit, but I'm happy they are coming along. Moreover, in the coming week, I'm going to try an updated look for Yosh-E-O style Toroth that, in the end, I hope you enjoy. Seeing if I can enhance the cuteness by at least 50%. ;)

That is so cute. It's actually pretty clever too, since making a game out of it is a good way to get them to admit what happened. Just simply yelling at them would just end with bad feelings and no lessons learned for both parties. But I think the creativity of a trial helped them learn that it's just better to tell the truth. I'm sure their punishment would've been less severe had they have been honest.
Phoenix Wright is great. I remember the story Phoenix tells about why he became a lawyer. I found it really touching, and could relate to it greately, except I had no one to stand up for me. I could totally understand why he looks up to Edgeworth so much, I know I would've. It borders on obsessive, but that just shows how strongly events in childhood can affect you well into adulthood.

Great points. I, too, enjoyed the background story as to why Phoenix decided to become a defense attorney. The way everything kind of came full circle in the 4th trial against Von Karma in the first game was a really great way of bringing two friends back together again.
What makes me really happy is Capcom was cool enough to make Phoenix Wright for the Nintendo Wii. I got through the first game and started the second. Now that my eye is back to normal, I hope to get back to playing it again so I can make my way to the third title and see the infamous Godot. I've heard lots about him and am stoked for his story. Moreover, getting to play as Mia looks awesome!

I'm so happy you like how it all came together, Tippie. Drawing your birdies always makes me happy and I'm so elated you don't mind me giving them adventures to take part in.
As for getting around these parts, no worries. I always think about you and hearing that school and work are still going strong makes me very happy. Both are far more important than doodles and I look forward to hearing from you directly, or in a journal, about how both are going. :)
Be well, Tippie! Happy Holidays!

Hoo and ray! *Quacks merrily* Thank you for being so nice to allow me to enjoy such wonderful characters. I simply adore Apollo. The fact you have added so many other great friends to his world make it all that much sweeter.
May you have a super happy Thanksgiving, too, Tippie! May it be filled with tasty treats and family and friendly warmth and love. There's nothing like the holiday season to put one in great spirits. :)
As for doodles in class, I know that feeling all to well. Especially in my MBA. I had lots of 2.5 hour classes and, well, the margins in my notebooks were just loaded with Yoshi and Haposaur piccies. *Giggles*
