That they are. In fact the little guy in the ref you used makes me want to keep my fingers very deep in my pockets.
The difference here though is you get the impression this is a big animal that could maul you to death, not just nip you. Mostly likely due to the flag in the background and the close up.

Oh I meant more like size perspective, I always imagine flags being like a yard or a yard and a half long. So naturally Spike gets proportioned according to that.

Please stop asking! You've asked so many times now, even after I posted a journal explaining the delay. It's not going to make it get done any faster if you pester me about it (if anything, it'll slow me down because I'm frustrated and being constantly pressured). It will be done when it's done. If it really bothers you that much, I can refund your money and drop the commission, but that's the only other option.
Thanks muchly! Was tricky cos normally I caricature all of these humanish features into his face, so I wasn't sure how I was gonna make him have a fully weaselly face and still look like himself. Glad I succeeded!
