As a native Arizonan, I agree with that sentiment. I HAAATE the summer but winter is just purely amazing. hehe. Sadly, I live in Suburbia, Phoenix and there's not much to see other than rows of cookie-cutter houses and the occasional fast-food restaurant.

Any backstory on the Graffiti Arena? That seems a practical use for a mysterious and otherwise unused...um, enclosure.

I remember hiking the wash around tanke verde regularly, and always found something interesting.

The coin is a weird find....But I remember all the strange shit we would turn up just in the gutters on the street.
I had a box full of old screwdrivers, pliers and other tools.
And of course, there were things like the big brass "jail key" I found, or the endless, unidentifiable small parts from machines.

The big sheet of copper was the largest item that I can remember- I still have most of it.

I do miss Tucson....
If I ever win the lottery I think I would move back and hit every gun show and antique shop in the state...

ah good old Tucson... going there tomorrow... I'm going to freeze my tail off riding the motorcycle at 6 am, but out of all the years I have lived in AZ I have never been to any of the Tucson malls. (oh and i'm going to the zoo)

I am of the opinion that cities need to hire these graffiti artists for city beautification projects. Give them money to make pretty arts that lack gang slogans and symbols.
