While this is similar to acupuncture, it does not involve all that "releasing the bodies energy" or other nonsense like that. This was described as, "It will hit the muscle and make it flex and release lactic acid. This will help to loosen you leg muscles."
She did hook up electrodes to these needles, but they were to cause the muscles to flex in sequence.
