When I was growing up, I really liked toys that had a lot of joints so I could pose them. Unfortunately, not a lot of toys did that. Barbie and her damned straight legs and stiff, perma bent arms just sucked. My Little Ponies? Well, they were pretty and you could brush their hair, but other than that, they did nothing other than get picked up and moved around a lot. BO-RING!
When I was 7 years old, I was frustrated with all my toys. I wanted something I could play with in the bathtub that didn't take forever to dry out or get mildew in their heads (Thanks, Barbie, you whore). So I decided to make my own doll. I took a drinking straw and cut it lengthwise until I had four pieces. I clipped some little hands and feet on those, and then bent them in half. I bent them again where I wanted the knees and elbows to be. I slid a couple small sections of drinking straw over a bumpy chenille pipe cleaner, and then attached a long section of yellow cross-stitch yarn.
The dress is actually made out of the cape for Bow...the one male She-Ra character. I had his action figure.
The bracelets on her wrists are links from a necklace.
Her name is Litrodelia. I have no idea why I named her Litrodelia. I was -7-. I was still in that short schizophrenic stage. Don't judge meeeeee!
Anyway, I've had her ever since. I've had to remake her numerous times when parts wore out, of course, but she's always had the same design. She has the head of a fox, and she usually had a tail, but it looks like I took it off for some reason here. I haven't picked her up in a long time.
She is fully able to go into the bathtub and won't rust or take a long time to dry out.
The best part about her is she's bendy and versatile. I have attached wings to her or taken them off. I've changed her hair color. I've made her a centaur, a mermaid, a fairy, an angel, a princess, a vampire, a werewolf (werefox?), just anything my imagination could allow her to be.
She has several unnamed sisters around here too.
She didn't get shared with others. I learned quickly that other kids would laugh at me because of her. So you guys are going to be the first in 20 years to see her. She's still the best doll EVAR, and I'm big enough to punch you in the face now if you make fun of her. :)
