The facial hair changes works well on Merrick but I like more the bandana.
Anyway, the changes are good.

how about keep the bandana but add the hat anyway? Like the hat over the bandana?

Never read it.

But I agree with a fellow poster above. He can have his bandanna underneath the hat. Kinda like Jack Sparrow but cowboy instead. Or go with the traditional bandanna around the neck look?
