Roger is the kind of guy who would make a decision that's only right in his eyes: and possible in his mother's. He never seems to quite learn and always seems like the kind of guy you have to wonder how he's still able to make it in this world.
But even he will come to a realization every now and then what he does is wrong sometimes. What he is unaware of is how many gay guys really are attracted him because he's on the 'punk rock' scene alot. And it's still up in the air as the series goes along whether Roger is straight, bisexual or could eventually become gay. It's Xu's future standing with him that will determine this.
