Prelude in E-moll ''The Cathedral'', BWV 533, by Johann Sebastian Bach
2 minutes 43 seconds
When it came time for me to learn some more music, my organ teacher picked this piece out for me. She knew I liked spooky-sounding music...she did a great job in selecting this one for me! This prelude is one of my favourite pieces of Bach's!
As a summer job in college, I was the substitute organist for the church I recorded this piece in.
Performed on the pipe organ at Kirk O' The Valley Presbyterian Church, Reseda California. Recorded with a Stereo Walkman sitting on the music holder in the middle of the organ console.

Thankies! This piece (Prelude and Fugue together) took me probably about a month to learn to play, maybe less because I really loved it - spooky Dracula-type music!
I started playing the organ when I was 5 years old. No one would teach me then, so they taught my mother and she taught me until I was 6. I took organ lessons through 11th grade, including one summer of piano lessons. I was a church organist at three different churches from about 10th grade until my second year in college. In the college dorms, we started having jam sessions, and I gained access to multi-track recording equipment in music classes. After I graduated, I joined my friends in The Bogartz and we played at some places like Madame Wong's West in Los Angeles. Creative differences drove me from the band, and I concentrated on recording music in the late 1980s. I didn't do much performance-wise in the early 1990s. In 1995 I started playing ragtime piano at the meetings of the San Francisco History Association, and in 1999 I started playing the organ at games in the Gay Softball League in San Francisco; both of which I still do. Recently, I have tried playing on the streets as well. I have been playing for 38 years now...

I have always had a great love and passion for music. I have always enjoyed playing, performing and practicing it. I also play the recorders and strum some chords on a guitar - which can be heard in the end and the beginning of 1985 / The Mourning Sunset. I still want to learn how to play the digeridoo that I have.
Whatever you have a passion and love for in life you will be able to be dedicated to it, and will enjoy what you end up doing with it.
