Beautiful bird

I went to the zoo with my family today. Took about 200 pictures. Over the next 2 or 3 days I'll upload the 14 I decided were good enough.

First off. Sulfur Crested Cockatoo.

I I had the money, space and time for this species I'd own one. They are my favorite of the parrot species.
In a few years I can at least be able to own my second fave though. I'm currently planning and saving. :D

Parrots, in general, are pretty crazy. Little feathered sociopaths! I know my guys are anyhow, heehee.

I am preparing as much as I can for one. It will be at least another year before I bring a Sun Conure home. <3

I work with birds of prey but I know they're a whole different beast than a parrot.

I'm painting a Green Cheeked Conure for a trade. I'l be sure to post it to my art account on this site along with onto LJ.

It will be fully watercolor, my largest and hardest watercolor painting yet. :D

I get birdy cuddlies from a Kestrel who things he's a cokatiel.

These birds dance for kids and have a large vocabulary. I had the pleasure of working side by side with their keeper during an internship last year.
Such fantastic animals.

I loved my time at the zoo. I currently have a paid position at a Bird of Prey rehab center. If I ever had to leave here I'd throw my resume back at this zoo. I do miss it sometimes (I like my birds I work with now more though).

It looks more like a citron-crested cockatoo to me. XD Orange crest and all that... Regardless, pretty birds!

It's a sulfur, the camera made the yellow crest dark.
