AHAHAHA. I was a pagan for years. xD
I'm just a massive Harry Potter nut.
Personally I think Wicca is very vague, but at this point after all I've seen and experienced, I can't tolerate organized religion in my own life. If it works for you, then that's great, good for you! Personally I believe that "witchcraft" (I don't agree with that term, I think it carries too many connotations and is too narrow to describe what it attempts to label) is a skill and can be applied to any or no religious belief depending on how adept you are at it.
But hey, good luck, and I hope you find what you're looking for. c:

really? awesome
i enjoy the community in organized religion and Wicca differs so much because no one is ever placing the idea of fear upon you.
It is a tad vague, but i enjoy the spirituality and the roots of its history etc.
yes witchcraft has a very bad connotation, but so do the words 'wolf' ,'black' 'shark' and 'sheep', '13' and '666'. Connotations are just part of ignorant stigmas that surround the word.
same with you ^^

Mmm, donno if I agree with that. In the Wiccan community around my area, there was a lot of constant "OMG DON'T DISRESPECT THE GODDESS" and 3x rule reiteration in scenarios that made it feel almost as tightly constrictive as the Christian community I grew up in. I think the further you get into it and the more you integrate it into your daily life, the more basic the whole thing grows to be; at first it's great and new and special, but in the end, it's just another group to pour money and faith into just to try to become more comfortable with a world that isn't designed to be easily understood.
I don't just mean the connotation of the word, though. I mean in general, it seems too tight to actually be able to describe something so vague. "Magic" or "witchcraft" isn't a simple set of spells and powers, it's a natural skill that takes time and work to develop, and not everyone has the talent to build that skill. I don't believe in it as a side effect of paganism. It doesn't come with the territory, and believing in it and knowing the basics doesn't always give you that set skills.
I have a lot of skepticism toward 90% of people who claim it anyways. Bad experiences. xD

but you see, Not all Wiccans are like that just how not all Christains are the same way either. every community and person differs, personally, i could careless if someone decides to insult my way of life, i do not want to waste energy on them, instead, i move on with my life and become a happier person. I know what you mean, but I have had so many spiritual encounters in my life, it is really hard for me to ignore it anymore. I would rather put my money into something that makes me happy and makes others happy, then into something that is redundant and based on fear.
Magic can be many things though, it is just one kind of word for the same thing. It is like saying Water, or l'eau in french, same meaning, different word. You can refer to magic as anything as you want to refer it to, it is still the same thing though. True, some people are definately more inclined or skilled towards things but it doesnt mean you have to give up.
I can understand your skepticism, i never expect you to believe the things i see or have seen. But i believe there is so much more than the physical world, like i said, i have had a tonne of spiritual experiences.
