Needs more Venom! yay

Pretty cool.

Venom used to be my favorite marvel character. While I'm more a fan of the hulk & Ironman now, Venom is still up there.

I'm glad you like the pose, because symmetrical poses is about all I can do until I get my grubby little paws on Zbrush this Christmas.

I like the fact this actually looks like clay

That's just while I'm working on it. You see a lot of models in Sculptris and Zbrush that use this material while they're being worked on. It's a good balance of shadows and specular lighting, to bring out all the subtle details of the mesh's contours.

Psh, everybody knows that Toxin is the best symbiote.

Anti-venom is okay... I guess... kind of a shadow of his former self and just kinda ehhhhh... Haven't read any of the flash thompson venom stuff, but again eh, I don't really see why they'd want to turn a character with the venom symbiote into a mini-punisher. And Carnage is, well, Carnage, he's cool and all but really serves one purpose, to be freaking terrifying, which can be really cool or really lame depending on the writer.

Toxin has the story that a lot of people wanted to happen with the original venom, by giving the newborn symbiote a voice and having a pretty good guy wrestle with this new demon that's bonded with him (in a pretty non-stereotypical way, mind you) they created a character dynamic that really works. It's a damn shame he never got more than his original mini, hopefully they don't change him too much for his return next year because he really had an interesting character and I can't wait to see what happens next for him.

And then all that's left is the one-off symbiotes that basically get one story each before they're defeated/destroyed and just there for the sake of MORE SYMBIOTES!

So yeah. Toxin is the absolute best symbiote forever.

Heheh... if you don't think that you know *some*thing about anatomy by now (in particular musculature) then you aren't giving yourself enough credit. I'd love to be this accurate with musculature, male or female: I've got the streamlined forms down, but if I want something thicker looking, well, its a bit more slipshod for me. *nods* just gotta draw enough beefcakes myself I imagine...

Oh, I was mostly just teasing with that line. I don't think badly of my skills when it comes to anatomy, but I've never had any official education in it. I've never had a nude drawing class, or any books on anatomy. I mostly just picked up stuff here and there from looking at other peoples' art, as well as photographs.

Zbrush/Sculptris goodness! Excellent anatomy. How long did it take to model/sculpt this?

I'm not entirely sure, but not all that long. I got the core body shape done in an hour or so, but the smaller anatomical details took a bit longer to do.
