Well I came up with the idea for this guy while watching an ep of Sanctuary and I'm quite pleased with how he's turned out.

"So how does this all work. What exactly are you?" Asked a young human male.

"You saw be before with my deception mask on. It's a sub-dermal implant that can project a solid hologram. Make me look and feel human so we can live among humans. But as you can see I'm not. I'm surprised you could tell something was off with me." Senpek told the human with a smile as they walked.

"There was just something at the back of my mind. Telling me you were different. And I don't just mean willing to go out with me." The human said blushing.

"I like it when your species does that." Senpek smirked at the blush. "Odds are you've retained some latent abilities from earlier generations."

"So you gonna answer my question?" The human asked curiously.

"We Selake are an old species. We were created long ago from some of the first humans. Our own genes spliced with that of reptiles. We were to be labor force in some less hospitable areas of the world where it was too hot for normal humans. We thrive on eat. We can even sense it in the same way some vipers can. We don't do well in cold though. Our bodies have a difficult time holding it's temperature then." Senpek explained as he looked at his apple.

"Who made you?" The human asked eyes burning with curiosity and wonder.

"A species you already know about. Neanderthal. It developed much more rapidly than believed. They created us from their cousins. Their fall from dominance was a great loss. It was a plague that did them in. Though it's rumored small pockets of them still live. Odds are they influenced much of culture. For example. They used us to teach some humans in parts of the world. We took over their legacy. At least in the warmer portions of the world. The snake giving man knowledge as it were." Senpek laughed a bit looking at the apple and held it up. "Most myths have some basis in fact."
