my Nano is going slowly,

this is a current rewrite of the beginning of the story I wrote before with these characters, on which the current story is loosely based.

there was a bunch more I wrote which I think I no longer have, so I'm just gonna have to come up with entirely new stuff, which is more in the spirit of Nanonovel anyhow.

I know the green leaf shape sword was made of some Dragon-based material and had some sort of dragon related powers to it, but I don't remember what. the basic concept was they went off to Japan to research this sword, get lost in a very weird supernatural jungle for about 5 years, and when they finally escape the jungle they find they are in Australia instead of japan. they also find that time has passed differently for them than for other people, and some things that happened in the jungle were real [ie Shadow marries Kristi and they have a child, Sunshine gets two large tribal tatoos, one for himself and one on behalf of Shadow who refuses to be tatood in some membership ritual for a tribe they have taken up with] but other things [I don't remember what, other than the passage of time] didn't really happen. not much to go on.

rewriting this was fun, as I got to see how much my writing skills have improved over the past 5 years...

there are still some serious flaws and holes which I haven't yet bothered to fix.

Another 10 years or so and maybe there'll be some hope for me yet...lol
