Inspired by the costume breakdowns UMVC3 does, I decided to come up with 6 colors for Lucian.
Being comprised of mostly white, Lucian's a hard character to work with when it comes to creating original colors. I wanted to keep them all a shade of white without going overboard and making his skin a bright pink or a deep red.
Lucian's P2 color references the shiny color for Lugia. A Shadow Lucian was also planned, but I didn't really like how Lucian looked in those colors; he's too nice to be an evil shadow Lugia, personally. Also, green wasn't a planned color in Lucian's palette, but I wanted to throw it in somewhere, so P2 Lucian has green pants.
Lucian's P3 color refers to what I like to call the "classic" Lugia. Due to possible color limitations, Lugia's eye masks, air plates, and tail spikes were black instead of blue. This is however also present in early art for Gold and Silver versions, nameley the strategy guide. Later artwork of Lugia depicts it with the blue parts that we see today.
P4 is a reference to the main antagonist in Lucian's story, Terion. There was supposed to be a Takuya palette, but I felt that it would be too much blue for Lucian, a character who has enough shades of blue on him already. Besides, some characters already have the colors of antagonistic characters; take Zero for example, who now has a Vile palette.
P5 is probably one of my favorites; Lucian's Marcus colors. Not much is really to be said, it's one of Lucian's greyer palettes. Oddly enough, for a character so cheerful as Lucian is generally, he has a lot of depressing grey palettes. Marcus was given the added blue to balance the otherwise entirely grey bird.
As for the P6 colors, I know I said that Lucian's skin was mainly going to incorporate shades of white and grey, but this one just had to be done. In his P6 colors, Lucian is made up to look like the mascot of my art, Zarel himself! It's like if you took Ryu and decked him out in Mega Man colors!
EDIT: Filesize is bigger and there are some minor changes; such as Shiny Lucian's blonde goatee
