My youngest Sam wanted to be a Ninja Turtle for Halloween and when I told the guys on the way to FurFright, Silver was wonderful enough to offer me his old costume from back when he was a kid. All I had to do was give it some touchups, fix the frayed seams, reattach some of the velcro, and tadaaaa! Raphael was alive again!
This picture was taken by Daddy once he dressed Sam up at daycare. You can tell that Sam is really into it!

This is a homemade costume, from a pattern available in the late 80s I suspect (it's definitely 1st gen cartoon style). Nowadays costumes do come in plasticky versions that are stupid expensive for their cheap materials, but then people don't know how to sew anymore...
