Hello, handsome! Advanced criticism and professional advice are strongly encouraged.
The work featured in this submission is a graphic pencil rendering of actor Peter Boyle as the monster from the 1974 Mel Brooks film Young Frankenstein. The illustration was rendered on a 12 inch by 9 inch sheet of smooth Bristol.
I wanted to belt out this illustration for the 2011 Halloween season. This is my effort to see if I can still make pencil-only drawings work. As it is, I find myself again annoyed at the light effects caused by putting a graphite drawing in a scanner. I might like to continue refining my pencil drawing skills because working with graphite is worlds easier than working with charcoal. Perhaps I've reached the limit of what I can do with pencils.
Thank you again for visiting, but don't inhale until the tip glows.
