This is voted one of the scariest games so far. Basically, you wake up in a castle with no memories, and you explore around trying to solve who you are and how to get out/conquer the dark being that seems to be after you. It combines a lot of horror elements that keeps people on edge, including ambient sounds, the setting, realism in the character's reactions (looking towards frightening sounds, shaking, growing dizzy when hit or frightened, eye taking a little bit to adjust to the dark) the monsters and the fake out scares all make it rather terrifying. Oh, it's also in first person view and you can't fight, you can only hide, sneak, or run.
I don't scare easy, but even I screamed out loud a few times playing.
This particular image is based on the expansion game, Justine, where you play as a female running a test on her own psyche to see if she has any humanity left in herself. Fluttershy here is based on a monster known as a suitor, someone who was experimented on by this woman who had some romantic connection to her in some way. There are 3 of them, and they are the only talking monsters in Amnesia. One is apologetic and desperate, in life completely and hopelessly in love with the character. He's the easiest to get around. The other 2 are the worse ones, one being extremely violent and abusive in life, and the other who was driven completely insane during experimentation.
