Old news, but I didn't have the artwork scanned at the time. I've pretty well recovered from my "Little Trip," and I've learned to stay on the other side of Ascot Drive where the path and rails are. Those Pine cones can be sneaky.

The trick to flying is to throw yourself at the ground ... and miss. If Mr. Foxy is distracted in mid-fall, he just might miss the ground and fly.

Your mistake was not giving the correct command to yourself as you were launched in the air. Next time, shout "Up, up and away!" ...or at least "Flame on!"

I once tripped ínto a little hole while playing soccer. I got a crinkling of the ligament of my right leg. >.< Was not very pleasent, could not walk for 2 weeks or so. I hope you´ve not broken anything when you fell on the day.

How do you KNOW it was a pine cone? It might, in fact, have been a sentient creature hell-bent on exacting revenge for something your distant vulpine ancestors did 350,000 years ago in some distant star system from whence both of you descend.

There's nothing really graceful about hitting the pavement like a big bag of wet laundry. Still, I think I'll follow your idea and try to make light of the situation if it ever happens again. I'll practice my Pee Wee Herman line, "I meant to do thaaat!"

Just try to tuck and lead with your shoulder, roll into it...cats do it a bit better, of course...

I had a bout a split second to think of what to do between exclaiming "Awww $#&%!" and hitting the street. I actually was able to tuck in and roll onto my left side, favoring my right hand. I more than likely would not be typing without much pain if I had landed on my right side. Of course I understand about felines landing on their paws.

Well, felines aren't always graceful. I remember my aunt's cat. He was lying on his back, so I rubbed his tummeh, and he squirmed, and I wubbed it some more, and then he squirmed his way right off the table.
