French Vanilla Cinnamon Fruit Cobbler
From the depths of the Dragon's Decadence kitchens, your friendly local Mistress of Desserts presents... cakey fruit cobbler!
Best served hot with coffee thirty minutes after waking up. This is a regularly made breakfast dish of mine. It's silly how much my friends and family seem to enjoy it. This is my own creation, hope you like it. :3
~ Recipe ~
Cobbler Filling
- Ingredients -
2 cans of fruit (Cinnamon Apple + Pear preferred)
1 cup sugar
6 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup water
- Directions -
1. Mix all the ingredients of the cobbler filling in a large bowl. Pour the filling into a 13x9-inch pan, spread it.
2. Take a steak knife and cut each slice of fruit into about three pieces, making sure there are no large clumps. Spread the filling evenly as possible.
3. Heat your oven to 375F.
Cobbler Topping
-Ingredients-
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter, soft
3 large eggs
-Directions-
1. Mix all the ingredients of the cobbler topping in a large clean bowl. It's important you do not use the original bowl for this.
2. You should have a sticky dough, spread this across the top of the Cobbler Filling. If done appropriately, you should have enough to completely layer the top of cobbler.
3. Gently set the cobbler into the oven, being sure to center it inside. Allow to bake for about 40 minutes or until toothpick check comes out clean.
Optional: Vanilla ice cream goes exceptionally well with this! Enjoy. ^.-.^
