story in short version:
sometime after actually meeting you face to face, briefly after the 1st night of the festival, Rami follows you and finds out you play the lyre during the day. A couple of the other dancers convince her to "run into" you down by the stream. You eventually invite her to play her flute with you and wham its a date. The pants are there to remind her that you're a stranger even if she does like you. (think iron underwear only made of fabric). seeing as she's never had to wear pants before she tried rushing across and twist her ankle in the process.
