Notice how the edges look kinda rough around the dude? If you right click his layer in photoshop and click "Blending Options" you can add a little shadow or outline around him to take the edge off. It's late and my eyes hurt right now, but you can mess around with the properties a bit to take away some the pixelations on the edges of your crops. I hope I'm not being insane and what I said makes sense.
