There are very few people who remember the world before the war. The war that collapsed most every government out there. Afterwards those that made it through tried to pick up the pieces. This is the story of someone that walked between the raindrops, someone that seeks something which she knows not what. This is the story of Rakell, a wanderer of the wastes.
After the attack on the Fountainhead, she and Chloe have stopped by a town in the valley, on their way towards their next destination. What awaits them on the road ahead?
Loosely based on Fallout : New Vegas, this is a practice story which I am working on in an attempt to hone my skills and give me something to work on in between other things. I may continue this story erratically, as it's a 'when I find time' project, but I do want critique on this one if you're up to providing it. Make sure it's useful, don't tell me 'this could use more of something' and not be able to tell me why.
That said, I hope you enjoy the continuation of Rakell's story.
Starring:
Rakell - A raccoon who salvages technology from prewar sites and trades them for the essentials of life. A quiet and solitary girl, she does not know much of what the unusual devices are, but she knows that many of the older folks want them.

Mama Lee - A bear that runs a diner at an old rest stop.
Lucas - The sheriff of the rest stop town.

That was the idea. :) I was inspired by recalling the town of Novac from fallout, which was centered around an old motel that had the words 'no vacancy' on it, with the last four letters missing. I found in intriguing how postwar survivors would latch on to that and not know what it actually meant. :)
