My first latex prosthetic that I wore tonight for a Halloween party. While I love the range of expression and movement you can get while wearing it...I will never do latex again. Not a full-face as I did with this one, anyway. Spirit gum is one of the greater forms of evil that I've ever had the misfortune of doing battle with. Plus...all those scales were the biggest pain in the rear to paint @_@ NEVER AGAIN!

This looks so awesome! <3
Shame you wouldn't wanna do it again. Maybe something with less scales if you decide you wanna do it again. x3 But the detail here is wonderful!
I wanna make a latex prosthetic for myself one of these days. It's been a goal of mine (since maybe...middle school) to make an awesome werewolf costume and doing a latex type mask and make up is the route I wanna go for that.

The scales weren't necissarily what's making me not want to do it again. I don't like glueing crud to my face, it tugs my skin and is itchy. XD And it sucks so bad when you sneeze while wearing this. @_@
Latex is tricky to work with thats for sure...didn't really find it a fun experiance...*shrug* minor pieces like horns, noses, ect, would be okay I guess. Be sure spirit gum is fully disolved before removing latex! It HURTS!

Ah...that's understandable. ^^; Latex prosthetics do seem like they'd be uncomfortable, especially fuller faced ones.
I do want to make a werewolf-y nose for myself but I think that's the extent of my interest in prosthetics. ^^; As cool as something like this looks visually, I can only imagine that it's uncomfortable. x3 And I'll keep that spirit gum tip in mind whenever I decide to work with it. :3

This is an awesome mask, you got great movement and the details are really clean!
My BF uses something called Pro adhesive for latex and foam latex prosthetics, it's a lot more comfortable than spirit gum if you ever feel like gluing stuff to your face again. He got it at our local costume makeup store.
